We Serve: Where There’s a Need There’s a Lion

Lions Serve Their Community The members of the Holliston Lions Club are dedicated to offering community service, raising funds to assist those who are less fortunate than themselves, and to working tirelessly towards the mission laid out in 1925 by Helen Keller which was eradicating preventable blindness.

In addition to fulfilling our mission of aiding those with visual impairments, members of the Holliston Lions Club will also be found working on other worthy projects including environmental protection, diabetes education, helping ensure those who suffer from food insecurity, providing necessary vision care and when needed eyeglasses to those who are unable to afford them.

The Holliston Lions Club is also dedicated to youth programs. We support our local Boy Scouts Troop, offer opportunities for youth including a very active Leo Club, offering opportunity for students in high school to participate in the Lions All State Band and Youth Speech Contest. We also sponsor the Lions Clubs International Peace Poster Contest.

To meet the needs of the visually impaired and strive towards a day where preventable blindness is eradicated, Lions in Holliston donate funds every year to Massachusetts Lions Eye Research Fund, Inc. (MLERF) a wholly owned corporation of Massachusetts Multiple District 33 Lions Clubs. Each year, MLERF provides grants to researchers who are investigating cataracts, macular degeneration and other eye diseases that could lead to blindness.

Holliston Lions Club members also provide eye screenings using the District 33K Lions Eyemobile. The Eyemobile is owned by District 33K Lions Clubs and travels across the District providing free eye screenings in our communities.

Lions in Holliston are also committed to providing needed aid for those who have suffered losses due to natural disasters including hurricanes, earthquakes and more. We do this by supporting the efforts of Lions Clubs International Foundation, the charitable arm of Lions Clubs International. LCIF provides numerous grants on an annual basis to help with some of the most pressing problems faced in countries worldwide.
